Emo: You excelled at EGL Manchester, winning the entire event even with a sub for the final, how did it feel to prove a lot of people wrong that you were onliners?
Luke: Going into the event, we knew we had to perform well, as it was the strongest and most prepared we had been for an event. To put it bluntly, our past LAN teams were never up to the standard required to get strong results. As for the ‘onliner’ comments... it was just people thinking they knew the community better than they actually did.
Ash: For gamestop we had inactive players and we werent prepared at all. We then had Tubez and TommyD, and placing 2nd in CG was great for us, but me and Luke didn't feel they were the right players to take us to the top as a team for different reasons, mainly due to attitude in game. The team was once again down to me and Luke, and we picked up BisseLL and Pacino, but Pacino shortly left to SK which was his choice to do so, but we weren’t surprised or disappointed as we feel our current team, with the recruitment of Vapez in his place, is the strongest we have had on this title. I think stability has been our flaw so far and with our new team that’s something we aimed to stamp out.
Emo: How is the new lineup working out?
Luke: The new line up is going very well, and is the strongest we’ve had on MW2. We are playing well at the moment but we are nowhere near our best yet, and there is a lot more to come. We’ve started off with some solid results, and hopefully this will continue.
Ash: The new line-up is working great at the moment. We haven’t lost since forming, and were looking great in scrims, so hopefully we can continue in this form in preparation for the up and coming LAN events.
Emo: Why do you keep going back to him?
Luke: He had only left once in the past. Back on CoD4 when we first picked him up, there was a uncertain period of one or two days, but we were together for about 4 months. We picked him up again on MW2 but at the end of the day i don't regret it, as we wouldn't be were we are today with an even stronger line up.
Ash: Well we have teamed with him twice. He left first time to team with some players he has known for a long time online, which i could understand in a way. He then asked to join back and we had roster troubles at the time, and we thought him leaving before was to enjoy playing with his old mates, but he decided to leave again for SK for certain reasons. I'd say now we have an even stronger team.
Emo: As brothers and playing side by side, do you feel it prepared you more for LAN in anyway and would you say it gives you an advantage online?
Luke: I'd say one advantage it gives in preparing for LAN is that we are used to playing by the side of another player all the time. As for playing online, the only advantage it has is in S&D although we very occasionally get to use it to our advantage.
Ash: Online it gives us an advantage, and i would say overall for us too. We have always been the core of our teams, and it has allowed us to compete at the top no matter what our roster with 2 solid players being constant. For LAN and online it brings advantages as we have played together since the start and allows for better communication through the team.
Emo: There is another gamer in your family, your brother Elliott. He has been playing in some quite up and coming teams. Any plans to bring him into the team yet?
Luke: Nah. He's got a solid team going himself which isn't out of his depth in terms of his ability. I'd say he needs quite alot more experience before competing at the top. Who knows, Elliot could be planning to bring us 2 into his team lol.
Ash: I think teaming with 1 brother is enough haha. There isn't any plans to do so, but you never know i guess, although i seriously doubt 3 of us in one team would be much fun.
Emo: You have been with Infused for sometime, how is it being with them?
Luke: We've been with them since June 2009, and since joining them we've been able to deliver results which have pleased both parties. We get on well with the management, and they have alot of respect for the console sides within the organisation. They seem to be pushing things foward in terms of the PC squads and sponsorship as well, which is always a good sign.
Ash: We have only been to 1 LAN under infused, so its mainly been online tournaments under infused. We get on well with the management, and since we have joined, we have had great support online and for the EGL LAN. A lack of events for CoD has definatley been disapointing in the past, but we hope to attend DutchGameCon in April and the European Gaming League in June/August under team-infused.
